Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate

Introduced in 1960 Basic H was one of the first general-purpose biodegradable cleaners.  Since then no other cleaner has offered as much versatility.  It provides concentrated cleaning that’s suitable for a variety of household cleaning needs–even the toughest jobs.

Yet, Basic H2 delivers safe, efficient cleaning power without contributing to environmental pollution.  Basic H2 offers unique performance advantages over many types of cleaners from porcelain, ceramic and tiles cleaners to car wash soaps.  It also works on delicate washables, dishes and on surfaces such as glass windows and mirrors.

Basic H2 is also economical.  One half a gallon of Basic H2 makes up to 192 gallons of powerful cleaner.   Your starter kit comes with three mixing spray bottles–one for windows, one for general all-purpose cleaning and one for a degreaser.   This 16-ounce bottle of Basic H2 that comes with the kit makes 48 gallons of cleaning products.  Because it is a concentrate, it lasts months.  For just 2/10 of 1 cent per ounce, mix 1 or 2 drops of Basic H2 with water in a 16-ounce spray bottle to make window cleaner.  To make an all-purpose cleaner you mix 1/4 tsp. of Basic H2 in a 16-ounce spray bottle of water at a cost of just 3 cents per 22 ounces.

Most cleaners you buy in the supermarket and discount stores are mixed with water.  So you are paying a lot for a bottle of mostly water.  Basic H2 saves you money because it is a concentrate you mix with your water.  It also saves on hazardous waste in landfills because you are not throwing away plastic containers that held harmful chemicals.  You reuse your sprayers over and over and Basic H2 is not harmful to the environment.

Here’s how you can use Basic H2:

General Cleaning:  1/2 tsp. in a quart of warm water cleans doors, walls, woodwork, appliances, bathroom fixtures and tile.

Floors:  1 Tbs. per gallon of hot water leaves floors clean and shining.  May require rinsing.

Dusting:  1/8 tsp in a pint of water.  Squeeze sponge or cloth nearly dry.  Wipe off dust, fingerprints, etc.  Dry with clean cloth.  Leaves the wax finish bright & dust repellent, so that less dusting is required.

Outside Windows:  1/2 tsp. in “Ortho-type” spray applicator full of water.   Makes 2 gallons of solution for windows and screens.  Squeegee dry.

Coffee Makers:  Dilute 1/8 tsp in coffee pot of water.  Run through cycle and coffee stains will rinse away.

Ironing:  1 drop in your steam iron while you iron keeps your steam jets and interior clean.

Wallpaper Removal:  1/2 Tbs. per gallon of water for about 16 cents.  Soak wallpaper with sponge & peel or scrape.  (A small bottle of DIF costs about $6.50.)

Concrete and Mortar Mix:  1/4 oz per gallon of water mixed with your cement or mortar makes it spread easier and smoother plus set harder.

Plumbing:  When you use Basic H2 regularly to wash hands and pots & pan at the sink, it will emulsify grease and keep pipes clean and free-running.

Pressure Washer:  1/2 oz of Basic H2 to 20 gallons of water

Heavy Duty Cleaning:  Use 1 oz per gallon of water.  Use to clean mobile homes, siding, RV’s, boats, etc.

Humidifiers:  Use 1-2 drops in humidifier water to prevent rust and scum build-up.

Knives:   1 or 2 drops on cutting stone for sharpening knives.  Keep it moist and use Basic H2 as needed.  Does not clog stone.  Stone rinses free of residue.

Yard Spray to Get Rid of Fleas:  In a hose spray bottle fill with water and 1 capful of Basic H2.  Attach to hose & spray yard every 10 days  for 3 applications.  Use twice a year thereafter to control fleas.  Rinse all plants thoroughly.

Fine Fabrics:  Use 1/2 tsp. in a basin of lukewarm water to wash woolens, pantyhose and all fine fabrics.

Gum:  Use full strength to remove gum from skin, hair or carpeting.

Fruits and Vegetables:  Use 1/8 tsp in a pint of water to wash your fruit and vegetables.  (I use spray bottle–no more expensive vegetable and fruit cleansers.) Wash and rinse.  Removes insecticide residue, dirt and waxes.

Automotive Uses:  1/2 tsp per gallon of water to wash vehicle.  Wash small area at a time and hose off.  Wipe windshield, windows and chrome with paper towels after rinsing.  You’ll love the shine.

Camping:  Coat bottom and side of pots and pans before placing on the campfire.  Black soot just slides off when you wash them.  Basic H2 is all you need to take for dish washing, bathing, shampooing and laundry.  It even works in cold stream water.  Because it is organic, it won’t harm fish, vegetation or wildlife!

Crayon:  Use full strength to remove from walls.

Spot Remover:  Apply directly on spot after first dampening the spot.  Use a toothbrush or finger to rub Basic H2 into area.  Wipe with a damp cloth or rinse in a basin of water.

Upholstery:  Mix 1/2 Tbs. to 1/2 gallon water.  Spray on and rub clean.  (I have an upholstery attachment for my rug shampooer.  So I just such out the dirty water with that.)

Septic Tanks:  Keeps crust from forming.  For maximum health of septic system use all of Shaklee’s phosphate-free cleaning products.  This will do much to promote the growth of needed friendly bacteria.

One Response to Basic H2 Organic Super Cleaning Concentrate

  1. I’m finding new ways to use Basic H2 all the time. Love it for cleaning my fruit and vegetables, mixed as above. Full-strength it took stains out of my carpet. What I love is that it is also safe for my pets and my 3-year-old great niece who plays on the floor all the time. Leaves my ceramic tile floors looking clean and shiny. My husband uses Basic H2 over at his sign printing shop. Cleans sign panels without leaving a residue.
